Biography
Marina Triantafyllou
Marina Triantafyllou was born and raised in Paros, Greece. From her youth, she was recognized for her immense talent, particularly during her teenage years when she crafted bracelets from various stones and shells found on the island’s beaches, selling them to visitors. Marina was deeply immersed in the island’s arts and crafts scene and actively participated in community services.
In her early 20s, after having her first son, Marina pursued higher education in Athens, where she specialized in Byzantine iconography and explored other art forms. Following her studies, she established a studio in Paros, dedicating herself to iconography. Here, she undertook significant projects, including the restoration of ancient icons and contributing to church decorations, even completing dome paintings.
After years of success in Paros, Marina expanded her artistic horizons in America, where she explored various art forms, attended University in California, and delivered lectures at major universities about art.
Eventually, Marina returned to Paros, where she continued to focus on marble sculpting in her studio, without abandoning her passions for iconography, pottery, and jewelry making. During the summers, she also dedicates her time to teaching, sharing her vast knowledge and passion for art with others.
